All-Star Granny CAL

Posted by sallenlouise on October 9, 2007

Hi guys!
Well, I have  started a local Stitch Wits group on Ravelry. I also decided to make a CAL group, Stitch Wit Cals. If any of you are over there, come on in! If you didn’t know, Stitch Wits is the local group that I started for fellow crochet/knit/yarn enthusiasts! If you are in or around the Burleson, TX area, RSVP here. We meet every Tuesday for the time being. As well as one Saturday a month.

Here is the CAL that will begin in November.

I’m not sure how long this would take generally, but there are a lot of squares. (192 actually!) My Goal will be to make 5 squares a week, so 20 squares a month. This will have me finished by November 2008. It will take a total of 13 months. WOWSER! LOL!

Now, let’s see how that all works out! Come on, it will be a lot of fun!

Sneak Peeks and other stuff!

Posted by sallenlouise on September 3, 2007

I am making this for my HSKS partner, Miranda. Forgive the safety pins, I’m just trying to keep the loops straight. Any ideas on what it could be? I have the finished product in my head…and it looks awesome! Hahahaha! lol. I think it will look cool. No, it’s not in her Griffindor colors, but I know for a fact that she likes these colors…..trust me on this, lol! (Miranda, I know, I know….eventually!!!!!) Ohh, and really quick, WAY TO GO SLYTHERINS!! Let’s really try and stay in first place. I know we can do it! (yes, I know this was almost a week ago….positive reinforcement!!!!)

For Miranda, HSKSHalloween 12

HALLOWEEN: I am making 12″ squares for my Halloween square swap (you can still join the last 2)
I’m still sewing on the kitty, so don’t mind that loose end, lol! I have a witch, a bat, and a pumkin. I love ’em!! I will show them when I have them all finished.

Design Den: I have been working on some square patterns and some other kitchen themed items. I can’t wait to show ya’ll. I designed this awesome scrubby pattern for a swap that I was in, had written it down as I went…all I had to do was add it to the puter. Well, to my horror….it has disappeared. AHHHHHHHHHH! Maybe I can do something like it again…I guess we will see.

Hi everyone! Another short post….but hey, at least I’m here~

I posted Selah’s purse on her blog……..She has been wanting to get in there,
but has not had the time. She designed it all by her self!! I’m a proud mamma!
(OK, yes, her blog is under my name…she was wanting a my space, but I don’t think
it’s appropriate for kids. This way, I know what’s going on, and no funny business!!
She’s happy though:) and so am I!!)

I have lots of pics of the puppies, but I just can’t be bothered to upload them right now.

I also went shopping! Ummmm, quite frequently….shoot! BUT, my birthday is next
week, so I have an excuse! I will update what I bought when I can add the links, and add pics.

Well, I have to go KNIT WITH TOOTHPICKS! Are you curious??? HEHEHEHEHE!
I will fill you in later! It’s a surprise!

Maybe Iwill remember to take a pic of the SKY today,I always forget!
{Granted, this may not be considered snow in your neck of the woods, but here, we take what we can get!}

OK…………I’m here

Posted by sallenlouise on February 6, 2007

Boy oh boy, it has been crazy since my hubby got home.
First off, he’s left, came back, and left again since my last post.
We are going through some changes, and having to make plans to make sure everything works how it should. It’s crazy, it’s stressfull, and we’re both just like OH MY GOSH! I have been out of my mind……..Yet, I know I should just relax, it’s all in Gods hands.

I have not had the mind frame to post, to get online, let alone crochet….See, I told you it was crazy!Anyhow, since my last post, I may have fiddled with a few squares….mindless, lol! I still need to get the last 4 squares mailed for my Seasons Afghan square swap @ Lullabies and lace. I am making it a top priority to complete my cables sweater and pants by Sunday….I’m praying! I’m testing the pattern, and I just want it completed ASAP.

During the Super Bowl….what a game!…….I started crocheting a round ripple. This was not my choice, but it’s what happened. (I had all but my pattern for the sweater I’m working on) (I did get to buy more yarn, so all was not lost.)Miranda showed me the link for this PATTERN a while back, a few weeks ago, I got it from her again. I absolutely love it!!!!!!!!!I see a lot of these in my future! You should try it! I used a Q hook, RH in Cafe, RH in sandy print. I will pick it back up in a few weeks.

Use a coaster!

Posted by sallenlouise on December 27, 2006

~Basket of Coasters~ (8 pc set)

~This is a gift I made for my neighbor. She loves purple too! I haven’t seen her yet, so I still have it sitting here. What do you think?? Gift worthy? I hope so.
~This was fun to make. The basket is cute, but I think it needs a heavier yarn, or possibly cotton for it to come out better.

DHs Afghan almost done

Posted by sallenlouise on December 16, 2006

~My Masterpieces in the works! Wink Wink!!~

~This is what I am working on for the love of my life! Yes, I’m a big sap. I will do something more detailed next. I’m using the Dreamcatcher pattern. I originally was going to make the Monet Afghan by The Crochet Dude, but when my PC crashed, I didn’t have the pattern. (I need to be able to look at it because I couldn’t remember the starting chain, and whether it was 1 sc and 2 dc, skip 2, or reversed) I’m using RH soft navy, and RH sh. dusk for the joining. On the pic it looks like there is purple, that is actually off, because its another blue.
~Now, how did I get this pic? My scanner! I never thought about scanning an item………just pics, lol! My friend gave me the idea! (I ended up looking like a dope, but that’s another story!)
~I am almost done with my DDs afghan. I still need to edge my oldest DDs afghan, but that should take no time at all.
